Last updated 2026-09-28 · Canny figures read from their own pricing page that day.
Canny is a feedback-board and roadmap tool with a changelog attached, widely used to collect and prioritise feature requests. FoxPlug starts after that: you paste your product's web address, and within about twenty seconds there is a launch headline and ready-to-post X and LinkedIn posts written from your own pages, kept at a link for 30 days. The video, GIF, sticker and image cards are made in the app, on a paid plan, from what you actually ship.
These two are genuinely close neighbours — closer than the demo-recording tools FoxPlug is often lined up against — so the difference is worth stating precisely rather than blurring. Canny's strengths are real and get stated first, in its own terms.
Every cell below is one sentence the product publishes about itself, linked to the page it was read from. A factor that Canny or FoxPlug does not state in its own published words is left out of the table entirely, rather than shown as a mark against either one.

If what you need is a place for the release note to live — a feed your users can read, a widget inside the product, a permanent record of what shipped and when — that is Canny's job and FoxPlug does not do it. FoxPlug has no hosted changelog, no in-app announcement widget and no feedback board. A team whose gap is “our users do not know what changed” should look at Canny and not at FoxPlug.
FoxPlug, if the problem is that shipping never turns into anything anyone outside your product sees. A changelog reaches the people already using you. It does nothing for everyone else, and it asks you to write the note before it does even that. FoxPlug takes the release you already shipped and returns the video, the GIF, the sticker, the image card and the posts — with nothing to record and nothing to edit.
The exception is worth naming plainly: if you need the changelog itself hosted, or a feedback board attached to it, Canny is built for that and FoxPlug is not pretending otherwise. Everyone else gets more from FoxPlug, because a release note nobody outside your product reads is not distribution.
Yes, and that is the honest split. Canny hosts the changelog: the feed, the widget in your product, the permanent record of what shipped. FoxPlug does not host a changelog. It takes a release and makes the things you post about it — a narrated video, a looping GIF, a sticker, a branded image card and the words to go with them.
That is the common setup, and the order matters. Canny is where the note lives for your existing users. FoxPlug is how anyone who is not already reading your changelog finds out you shipped. A changelog feed reaches people who already use the product; a post reaches people who don't.
Canny publishes its current prices on its own pricing page. We do not repeat them here, because they change; check that page for today\'s figures.
No. FoxPlug shows you a preview and posts only when you click. Nothing goes out behind your back.
No recording, no editing. The fastest way to settle a comparison is to run it.
